Mother nature I can hear you roar
As the homeland of so many is ravaged
And yet I sit back to type upon the screen
About the empathy I feel from far away
As though in my comfortable surroundings
I could comprehend the sorrow of so many
The loss of there loved ones by a force
Far greater than any weapon of man
And yet you as any great wielder of power
Lack nothing beyond the chaos that ensues
And the greatness of the human race
Proves to stand testament as we gather
Our forces to stand strong and help rebuild
To show that the path to peace can be paved
With good deeds even when born of tragedy
Because we are not lost children of gods
We are the builders of nations
Creators of monumental feats of the soul
Humanity endures beyond any assault
Because our evolution is far beyond
Any of nature’s other jealous creations
As though recent events were set to remind us 
To not ever forget our small little place
In this universe ruled by our environment
Yet I find stories to prove that history
As we thought proven a repeating cliche
Can be broken to find that even in desperation
The Id of man can be testament that cooperation
Is a necessary component of our survival
And that the world through all the devastation
Of a mother’s wrath and historic flaws of indifference
Plagues of war and unwarranted hatred
That there is something beyond eye for an eye
We will not carve at the hearts of the fallen
We will prove that our petri dish existence
Is far beyond the viral fluke of the universe
We shall raise our hands and voices
Not in in mere gestures of empathy
But to show that we are as one race
For when our brothers and sisters suffer
We do not cower behind the shock
We come to offer sustenance and strength
We will not wait for the gods
To show us a sign of mercy
Because our kind  shall not bow
We shall persevere as of one, as legion
